Summer Wars

Summer Wars is about a young guy who get's into trouble by solving a code he got sent one night. It turns out this code was a security code that gives complete control of OZ, a program online that connects everything. This leads to an hacking A.I. called Love Machine taking control of Japan and causing chaos. He is also invited to the countryside by a girl from his school who needs to find a pretend boyfriend to present to her family. There he meets alot of different people that come together to fight against this threat to Japan.
The art is wonderful and very original, at least in OZ, in the real world the art is very believable. It's very unlike what I am used to and that's why I like it a lot. The plot however is fairly predictable and has kind of been used before, I mean the similarities are insane. How they advance the plot is really fun though. In this movie there are alot of interesting characters. My personal favorite is King Kazma, the fighting champion within OZ. This is a romantic film and you can see the main character mature over the course of the film. This film shows the bonds of family which is something I really like in films since my family is very strange.
I honestly didn't think the OST was special except for maybe 2 songs that really caught my attention. Well maybe it was because I didn't really pay that much attention to the music. I like how the film sucks you in and you start feeling for the main character. Well I would have to admit that that's not really a pro but rather a must since not forming a connection between the audience and the main characters would be a huge failure.
